Wire Grind updates Advanced Noise Gate for Windows to v1.6

-
Wire Grind

Wire Grind has updated Advanced Noise Gate for Windows to version 1.6. The new release adds features and addresses certain issues that existed in prior releases.

Most notably, Wire Grind has made major changes to their gating algorithm. Superficially, the new algorithm sounds the same, however clicking noise is virtually eliminated. Noise gates under certain circumstances can produce clicking noises. Such noise typically occurs when using either a short attack time or a short release time. The algorithm is unique in that it reduces such artifacts without the use of look-ahead.

Other changes:

  • Reduced the minimum attack time to 0.01ms.
  • Fixed issue that caused VU meter to desynchronize with the GUI.
  • Fixed issue that caused gate to open upon re-setting the hold time.

A demo version of Advanced Noise Gate v1.6 is available from Wire Grind's product web page.
