discoDSP has announced an update to its synthesizer and sampler, Discovery Pro, bringing it to version 7.9. They say:

Discovery Pro offers a synthesis experience with features such as 4 layers, 12 oscillators, WAV and SoundFont support, PADSynth re-synthesis, and Nord Lead 2 SysEx compatibility. Additionally, it's designed to work within a variety of production environments, thanks to its compatibility with 64-bit AAX, Audio Units, VST, and VST3 platforms.

Changelog for Discovery Pro 7.9 includes:

  • The integration of Rhythmic Pattern Transition Probabilities, amalgamating them into a single function. This function randomly selects patterns across different matrixes.
  • The introduction of a feature under Edit > Randomize > Layer/Program from Disk, allowing users to load a random layer or program from the available banks.
  • Optimizations to zone presets and editing menus for streamlined workflow.
  • The addition of the edit Gate and Mod Repeat functions for 4, 8, and 16 cells.
  • An update to the Mod zone cell, allowing values to be adjusted numerically via a right-click or ctrl-click on macOS.
  • Enhanced accessibility with the editing menu now available from any GUI location on macOS using ctrl+click.
  • Usability improvements such as the rename preset option now automatically focusing on the text input box.
  • Fixes including a tuning correction for the WAVE oscillator on blank tracks and improvements to the WAVE import dialogue.
  • A redesign of the popup menu for better display consistency.
  • Addressed MIDI Bluetooth issues in standalone mode.
  • Framework updates to ensure smooth operation.
  • Integration of the most recent versions of VST3 and AAX SDKs.
  • Resolution of rendering challenges associated with macOS Metal.
