CineDune Vol.3 soundbank for Synapse Audio Dune 3 synth is part of our CineDune series that focuses on cinematic - soundtrack music.
It contains 30 eerie mainly arps that could also fit to electronic music styles.
Almost all arps have some common features that define their sound character. The first filter is driven by the 1st MSEG modulation source in a linear way. The MSEG is looping and moves the filter cutoff from low to higher positions and back again until it reaches its initial position. So, the sounds are constantly changing from darker to brighter colors and vice versa. If you need to get a steadier color then disable the modulation event from the synth's mod matrix.
A second common element in most of the presets is the added resonance from the filter's section. Those resonances give this almost eerie unearthed sound characteristics which transform the arps into harsh atmospheric almost unmusical sounds. If you search for more conventional sound then adjust the Reso at will to lower values.
The speed of the dark to bright to dark movement derives from the speed of the MSEG1. You could try slower or quicker loop cycles by adjusting the Rate Knob in the MSEG1 section.
When we create sequenced presets using the sequencer of the particular synth to create melodic lines, the sequences come as a starting point to create your new melodic lines.
