Wholegrain Digital Systems has updated the DynPEQ dynamic parametric equalization plugins for Mac AAX and AU to version 1.3.1.
The principal feature in the new DynPEQ is support for the Avid Application Manager. "The Avid Application Manager has the potential to track update status on all of a user's software tools, and Wholegrain is happy to be part of it, " says company president Duane Wise. "Of no less importance, Avid provided Wholegrain vital support in fixing an irregular click issue in the update."
"Other problems addressed in version 1.3.1 pertain to multiple instances of the plugins running on the same session. We are thrilled that our new base of Pro Tools mixing engineers are using DynPEQ on 20, 30, or more tracks at a time. Such a heavy load exposed software issues that we were able to fix."
Bundled with the soundBlade mastering workstation since 2007, the DynPEQ family has been available for Pro Tools AAX/HDX since version 1.3. The DynPEQ plugins currently have two variants:
- Trio DynPEQ is a three-band dynamic parametric equalizer configured as a single-channel insert for input processing.
- Quartet DynPEQ is a four-band dynamic parametric equalizer with support for multi-channel stems and an interpolating peak limiter for mastering applications.
To mark the release, Wholegrain will place the DynPEQ plugins on sale through the end of March.
Trio DynPEQ and Quartet DynPEQ can be purchased or rented at the Avid Marketplace, accessible from the Pro Tools workstation from version 11 onwards. DynPEQ has many other sales outlets, many of which can be found through www.dynpeq.com.
