Tracktion and Dawesome release Myth Resynthesis Synthesizer

Tracktion Software

Tracktion and Dawesome have released Myth, a synthesizer built around a unique resynthesis engine. Rather than traditional oscillators, Myth utilizes machine learning to analyze and resynthesize audio samples that you load into it.

In classical synthesis, oscillator waves are mostly static and you add filters and modulators to "program" all the variations to make the sound organic and interesting. Myth offers a paradigm shift: drag and drop audio and it will be re-synthesised as an IRIS. The inherent variations and richness of the sample can now be exploited with the TRANSFORMER dials.

Myth aims to maintain the feel of traditional virtual analogue synths, promoting hands-on sound exploration. Audio samples become the foundation of sounds, with parameters to control their inherent variations and richness once they are resynthesized. A modular system is employed for the effects but without the complexity of patching. Modules are daisy chained to provide a number of sound shaping options.

Myth covers a wide array of use cases, allowing users to craft anything from classic virtual analog sounds to experimental textures with ease. A number of advanced randomization tools are also included for generating, blending, and morphing presets.

Myth is available now from Tracktion for both Windows and macOS (VST3/AU) with an introductory price $125 (Reg. $179).
