Sound-Base Audio releases "AudioUtil" for Android and "Qontrolr" for Windows

Sound-Base Audio has released AudioUtil, a real-time audio analysis utility for Android, and Qontrolr, a free lo-fi effect plug-in for Windows. There is an introductory price of $1.49 for AudioUtil (50% off).

AudioUtil features an oscilloscope, decibel meter, FFT analysis, spectrogram, and spectrum analyzer. The app can either use your phones build-in mic or an external 3.5mm TRRS mic to capture audio data. Screenshots can be taken directly from the app and saved to storage via the context menu. This app requires Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) or greater.

Oscilloscope:

  • View sound waves in the time domain.
  • Adjustable frame size.
  • Amplitude measurement by dragging on the screen.

Decibel Meter:

  • Max-peak or RMS amplitude readings in dBFS.
  • View as a solid bar or multi-step graph.
  • Peak tracking with variable time falloff.

FFT Graph:

  • Linear and logged frequency axis.
  • Six window types.
  • Peak tracking with frequency and amplitude readout.
  • Rendering filter for high-accuracy readings on stable signals.

Spectrogram:

  • Definable frequency limits to zoom in on desired frequencies.
  • Adjustable zoom/scroll speed.
  • Four themes/color maps.

Frequency Spectrum:

  • View a FFT analysis as a color spectrum.
  • Linear and logged frequency axis.
  • Four themes/color maps.

Qontrolr is a lo-fi/degrader effect plug-in available as a 32 or 64-bit VST or VST3 plug-in for Windows. It features clipping distortion, decimation, fuzz, and static, as well as a simple layout and clean graphics.

Qontrolr is available for free.

Sound-Base Audio is currently offering RBXL for $5 (normally $59) until January 1, 2016.
