Sketch Audio, a new audio software company whose goal is "to make fun little music things for serious musicians only", has released two new synths for Apple platforms.
Blip Box is a sixteen voice drum synthesizer "that may look nice but can sound mean". Blip Box takes inspiration from a variety of synths, both analog and digital.
We pulled together all the things we love about drum synthesis: complex frequency modulation, snappy envelopes, harsh effects; and put them together in a compact, touch-friendly package. The result is a truly unique digital sound engine that has taken on a life of its own.
Phase Monkey is a polyphonic synthesizer inspired by the classic phase distortion synthesizers of the mid-1980s. However, instead of being a direct copy, Phase Monkey presents a fresh take on the classic sound engine, including the rare eight-stage envelopes. The result is a versatile digital instrument that can produce anything from warm pads to shimmering leads to snarling basses.
Both synths are universal purchases on Apple platforms (iPhone, iPad, Mac) and have iCloud synced presets. You can use them standalone or as AUv3 plug-ins - start an idea on your phone, pick it up later in your studio.
Price: Both synths are half off through Saturday, September 9th, 2023. Intro price is $3.99 USD, standard price is $7.99 USD.
