Punk Labs has announced the release of OneTrick Keys, a physically modeled piano synth. Available as a CLAP, VST3 and Audio Unit plugin for Linux, Windows and macOS.
Punk Labs says:
OneTrick Keys is a physically modeled piano synth that produces a chill lo-fi sound without samples. It's powered by a vintage algorithm developed at Stanford in 1995 called "Commuted Piano Synthesis". The signal is then run through studio reverb, vinyl or tape noise, flutter, bitcrushing, and saturation to capture the vibe of chillhop and hiphop.
The features list boasts 25 factory presets, a preset browser with tags and editing, 16 voice polyphony, as well as sustain and sostenuto pedal support.
Price: $79.
The source code is available under the GPLv3 for anyone to inspect, adapt and learn from.
