Liine has announced the release of Cliip*, a new module for Griid, the iPad controller for Ableton Live, that offers fully hands-on, smoothly scrolling, zooming, multi-touch editing of MIDI clips.
Griid with the new Cliip module allows you to create and edit Ableton Live MIDI clips with your fingertips using a touch-enabled piano roll. Create a blank MIDI clip from the iPad and then make music by painting notes onto the smooth zoomable grid. Use intuitive multi-touch gestures to edit note length and velocity. Snap/Fine and Percussive/Melodic modes and the Copy, Paste and Duplicate functions will help you unleash your creativity.
To celebrate the release of Cliip, Griid Pro is $16.99 / €13.99 until February 28th, 2011 (Regular price is $24.99 / €19.99).
* Cliip module initially available only for iPad, with iPhone and iPod Touch compatibility in the next update.
What is Griid?
The core Griid module is a tool for launching clips. The newest Griid v1.10 update includes improvements such as independent track and scene zooming as well as the "infamous 'red square'". Both Griid and Griid Pro are now dual-platform. There is no longer an iPad version and an iPhone version.
Griid Pro is the suite version. Want the most power at the best price? When a new module like Cliip gets released, you get it first. Some modules free, others heavily reduced. Griid is for you if you simply want a clip launcher for Ableton Live. Cliip and other modules will become available via In App Purchase a little after the Griid Pro release.
