Swiss plug-in developer hitshaper has announced the release of SubKick, a plug-in that creates key-tuned low-end for kick drums.
SubKick is a phase-safe low-end generator, meaning that the phase is always realigned to the transient. The user can choose any note between D#1 (38.89Hz) to D2 (73.42Hz) according to the key of the song, which contributes to the overall musicality.
hitshaper explains:
The humanize feature is a psychoacoustic effect and slightly randomizes the frequency on every hit. Well known engineers like Jaycen Joshua use this effect to keep the attention on a subconscious level.
hitshaper says it also works great on toms or any other percussive instrument that needs help in the low-end.
Price: CHF 28 (about $28).
A trial is available, the plug-in runs on macOS (with native silicon support) and Windows (64-bit) as a AU, VST3 and Pro Tools AAX.
