Thanks, always good with more "tools" for the process.
I'm a bit scared though of the "mechanical" process that one would repeat oneself the next piece.
I hear a lot of that in EDM for one, that core notes of chords are overused.
I just fool around and try to make "accidents" happen.
Thinking of great composers like Angelo Badalamenti, Giorgio Moroder, Ennio Morricone

This is something I've been struggling with a lot lately. There's a lot of great piano music in the style of Chilly Gonzales that sounds deceptively simple, and it's nice to have someone more versed in theory break down what's going on.
I've been really into Jaron Lopez videos lately. Even though I'm not totally in love with the music he produces, he gets pretty deep into the theory and it's been useful as I work to develop my own style.
