is there any?
if not, are thrre alternatives? like other formats to ableton sampler.
i think samplerobot does it, but it's too expensive for my pocket / needs.

Don't bother dealing with conversions. Just use the free TX16Wx sampler plugin for all your SFZ needs.

it just seems weird that we are in 2024, ableton being around for ages, and no one yet made a conversor for the ableton sampler. so weird.

Chickensys Translator has Ableton listed as supported format - but also with a hefty price tag.

I'd imagine such a converter would be difficult (if not impossible) to make, given that each .SFX file can contain dozens of individual sound banks. This is why TX16Wx is so great by the way - super easy to switch between the various sound banks in a single Soundfont file, and it's multi-timbral.
With that said, I only ever see people use Soundfonts within the context of composing video game music. Video game composers likely make up a much smaller fraction of the Ableton userbase than they do in other DAWs (Cubase, Logic, Reaper, FL Studio).

You are not understanding my point or what i want. i just want sample mapping conversion. this is super simple to achieve.TheHansen01 wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2024 12:50 pmI'd imagine such a converter would be difficult (if not impossible) to make, given that each .SFX file can contain dozens of individual sound banks. Unfortunately, your observation that there is a lack of tools which do what you want indicates otherwise.
you could always try contacting the makers of some of the existing sample-format conversion tools, like FMJsoft and asking if Ableton Sampler is in their plans, Perhaps if it isnt, they'll give you an explanation of why its not as 'super simple' as you expect.

You could do it manually if there aren't that many instruments.
The audio files are the important parts.

Never used Samplerobot, but it appears to do the same thing as Logic's Autosampler. So if you have Logic... The files are named in the convention that will easily import into Live Sampler, velocity layers and all. I've done this a lot. And it beats the hell out of doing it manually.

If you're Mac, Logic is worth it just for its sounds. If not, then it appears Samplerobot is your only choice. If you want to do this manually, create MIDI clips, play them and record the input on another track, then slice them using an audio editor. Audacity is what I used before Autosampler. If you name them correctly, ("Mysound-C4-112", "Mysound-C5-95", "-note-velocity") then they'll import to the correct keys and velocity layers. It's a fair amount of work, but you get faster at it as you go along.
