Each strap pin screw gets a pair of washers, a curved steel one and a rubber one. They really grab on tight to the usb cord.
The cord needs to be a little loose, so you can pull it out to access the midi jacks. Usually you won't be using both usb and midi at the same time. But sometimes you want to power via usb and send via midi. Oh well nothing's perfect.
Both the metal and the rubber washers have oversized holes. This lets you push the rubber one to one side and the metal one to the other side. The rubber extends past the metal, preventing a sharp bend in the cord.
Notice I rounded the corner of the wood! Looks good, I just might round the other corners too. I did it because the cord is now semi-permanently attached. So it has to fit into the case. Rounding the corner avoids a sharp angle.
Speaking of putting it in the case, the metal end of the usb cord can possibly scratch or tear the playing surface. Two ways to avoid this. One is to put the cord on the back.
The other way is to put the cord on the front, but let the end stick out a bit:
You could get a right-angle adapter for the foot pedal jack too. And maybe run it out the other side of the strap pin screw. But the foot pedal jack seems sturdier.

2 washer pairs is sort of overkill, one would do. But the nice thing about 2 pairs and 2 strap pins is that the pins stick out so far that even dropping the Linnstrument directly on the usb jack won't hurt anything.Protecting the usb jack
