Is there such a tool to batch remove (by directory or add directory or multiple file dialog) loop points from WAV files?? I know goldwave, soundforge6, audacity, and ezeditor can't do it, and that's the extent of the wave editors I own/use...

You can do this in Translator www.chickensys.com - additionally, you can edit loop points on a Instrument basis or sliding scale.

An old thread admittedly, but can this be done without affecting the modification date?
And does anyone know if any other software can do it? Battery is frustrating in that it seems to turn on loops by default.

This isn't what you think.

It's not a good thing for a software to do that - the file is being modified, thus the modified date has to change. I understand that desire to do such a thing, but if rules can't be enforced and consistent, of what use are they?

I don't understand that desire. What is the reason to do that?

I suppose organization or continuity, if this is a developer not wanting his files to be displayed in a random fashion. There are reasons.

Free version asks for code and then crashes on every start!

Seems possible to do this with a custom script.
Have not tested but looks like the javascript in this answer would get one 3/4 there. Could try stripping out the functions to add in new sample points and leave just the removing sample points functions. Not sure if it would work like that, given all the rest.

There is enough detail in that javascript it potentially could be ported to python without *too much* effort. Here's a good starting place and some more references on working with WAVs & loops in python.
