Linnstrument 128 randomly not getting enough power from ipad

I usually play my Linnstrument 128 using my ipad and a Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter. I connect the adapter to Linnstrument using a MIDI cable, to a charger using a charging cable and to ipad directly. It is configured to use low power mode. Most of the time it works well - for the first 10 seconds when I connect all this, Linnstrument’s lights blink on and off but then it settles and works just fine. But sometimes they keep blinking and they keep behaving as if random buttons get pressed. So, for example, it may go to global settings or change the split on its own. I connect everything the same way, using the same charger and the same adapter and the same ipad everytime. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. What is going on? I attach a video demonstrating the problem and a photo showing the cable setup.

Hi phi,

The symptoms you’re seeing mean that you’re not providing your LinnStrument 128 with sufficient power, which will eventually brick it, losing all your settings and sensor calibration data, corrected only by reinstalling the current software and doing a new calibration. The Hooking It Up page discusses this—especially the problems from powering it from a Lightning source—and gives solutions, which I highly recommend.
