preserving the length of a sample while playing different notes?

is this possible?
i'd like to use the sampler to transpose loops into different notes without loosing the general timing.

TX16Wx Pro allows you to set transposition method to be pitch shift, doing what you are requesting. You can enable Pro mode (for evaluation) in the settings page. Then switch your mapped group to use the pitch shift engine.
