Got a copy of the latest Beat edition yesterday, and played around a little with this synth today. Actually i only wanted to play around a little with it, but it turned out to be 3 hours of fiddling.
Absolutely awesome this thing, i can't believe really that it's magware, as it feels like a full version. I really like the sound, very warm and fat (great for pads and sequences), and the filter (only tried the 24db low pass, high pass and peak filter) is just perfect. Of course only scratched the surface of modulation options, but was good fun to draw a pattern for modulating the filter cutoff with the LFO. Also the GUI is pretty much self explaining (every parameter is also explained when you mover with the mouse pointer over it in the right corner), good job for that, it makes programming this very easy, even though it is quite a deep synth. Oh, it seemed to be pretty low on CPU too, as long as you don't play notes with very long release times of course.
So, thanks for this plugin, you guys did a great job on this, it is lovely.

Thanks for your kind words. We are glad that you like the Beat Edition of Curve2.chk071 wrote:Absolutely awesome this thing, i can't believe really that it's magware, as it feels like a full version.

Even though it has of course less features than the normal version, we've tried to make the limitation well chosen, so that it still feels like a full synthesizer and not like a noticeable limited try out version which is of no real use.

There's tons of presets in there, 23 pages at the moment, by Michael Kastrup, Xenos Soundworks, Pluginguru et al, and great ones by great users, Konrad, Earworm, EdT, DavidF and many more. So, yes, uhm?yessongs wrote:anyone working on creating any presets for these free versions yet?
Also our sound designer Jerome sometimes adds his creations or adds his edits of some presets by our users.

Is there a way to download the additional presets for Curve 2 CM, which are not included into the installer, otherwise than from the synth itself? My DAW has no internet connection and will never have.
Great synth btw, I like and use it a lot.

Right now an Internet connection is the only way to get the additional presets. Well we thought of an offline importer, but it's not of any high priority for us (if we are not forced by many requesters..).

Thanks, Jacob! Could you tell, roughly speaking, how many further presets are available now?
Probably I could break my own rules and make a temporary web connection, just for the sake of your synth

Sure, no prob, it's about 23 pages (500 presets), 10-11 pages (227 presets) of them are "approved" by us (this means they have macros set up, have the same volume level, good playability etc).recursive one wrote:Thanks, Jacob! Make sure to use the latest version (2.1) though. There's a "Check for updates" link in Curve 2 CM's/Curve 2 BE's bottom right corner which gets you to the latest version.

Anybody want to get Curve 2 BE version for free?:
Then go to [Link removed: KVR has been informed that serial numbers are intended to be reserved for BEAT readers and are not supposed to be shared like this] and register for the latest Beat issue (no 91).
When I got the mail from them after registering, link to download for Curve 2.06 BE was included.
It's an open webpage, so see no problem posting this info

As I pointed out to a user in another thread today, buying CM on zinio and getting access to the CM plugin package could most probably be the best 5 bucks ever spent plugin wise.idfpower wrote:Curve CM - possibly the most powerful freebie to dateAwesome synth

However...I like better the BE stuff: fewer choices, but darn good ones and for some strange reason they perform a notch better on my machine (stability/CPU). Now if they'd only release the cd libraries for Zampler...that alone would kill

Hm, this made me try Curve 2 and frankly I noticed a lot of zipper noise when modulating stuff with aftertouch. Even in presets. Bug?

Many parameters are smoothed and won't show zipper noise, but some parameters aren't smoothed. Curve allows to map aftertouch to almost all parameters, so yes, zipper noise can appear with some of them.zerocrossing wrote:Hm, this made me try Curve 2 and frankly I noticed a lot of zipper noise when modulating stuff with aftertouch.
