Thanks and Congrats everyone who made tracks for the contest:
1, Stream- fisherKing- 16 point
2, Flying with an Angel- IrionDaRonin- 13 point
3, Second Look- tonecarver
4, Forsaken- trance_lucent- 23 point
5, HollodBe- jdoo- 3 point
6, Egg Garden- mikusan
7, Lady of the Lake- ClaRago
8, Temporal Wavelenght- S1gnsOfL1fe- 11 point
Let me introduce The Winners:
1 trance_lucent
2 fisherKing
3 IrionDaRonin
Wonderful job guys!
Check your mails with your copy of Padsheaven2!
I would like to talk about the preset tweaks and tricks used to build up the mixes,
like the punchy lead sound and the bright pads on trance_lucent hit,
fisherKing wonderful opening and almost symphonic build up.
I was also liked S1gnsOfL1fe mix very much. For such a low frequency context it's incredible difficult to make it so clean, warm mix
without any disturbing, competing freqs!
Thanks for IrionDaRonin for all the help as our contest expert!
Thanks for jdoo also, he played the contest just for fun, he can't win another
copy of Padsheaven2, he already won one.
Cheers,
Joseph

Congrats for the first and second place and of course the rest of participants.
It was fun.
Thanks for the contest Joseph.
I hope more companies will do this in the future.
It is a nice way to have demotracks for their soundsets or synths.
If you want to use my song in your website as promo demotrack, feel free to do it.
Have a nice day everyone

Thank you Joseph for contest and for the soundset. There is really beauty inside. And thanks to other participants and voters. Congratulations to other winners!
There is no particular magic in my plucky leads. It is combination of AmBell Fairy (Octaves thing tamed by XY, also reduced reverb wet) and Woodcutters (highs reduced with EQ). I just flattened its amplitudes and emphased attacks with dynamic processing.
As for pads, there is EQing. One of my favorites, Warmness to the sky, contains plenty of hidden air that can be revealed with highshelf EQ, transforming this pad to choirpad-alike.

Great tips trance_lucent!
Rev wet down and compressor threshold down already makes Ambell Fairy to
stand out from the crowd. Good find for a Lead.
The Warmness... pad already contains the air choir with Breath or Pitch Bend but with your method, with the EQ, we can get wider, other, new types of Air out of it. Really useful.
This pad is like a chameleon from warm to strings to thin air and some leads.
If i could have just one pad with me in the desert
i guess this would be my choice.
Here is the preset info:
Very expressive Warm pad with traditional
opening to Strings (Xpress) or Airy Choir
(slowly push up the Pitch Wheel, Breath)
Modwheel brings up a whole line of Vangelis type
Leads
Mw - Lead lines, Sweep HP
Pb - Air Choir
At - Subtle Dynamic
Breath - Constant air choir (XY1)
Xpress - Strings (XY2)
Now we'v got trance_lucent real name also:

If anyone of you have some more useful tips please show up here.
Thanks also for all the kind comments!

Well, yes, when I picked presets up, I tweaked XYs first to the most appropriate sound for the track, and then I used external EQ and compression.hollo wrote: The Warmness... pad already contains the air choir with Breath or Pitch Bend but with your method, with the EQ, we can get wider, other, new types of Air out of it. To say the truth, there is also another reason of thick big sound in my mix - quite aggressive mastering. This is a sort of "lazy" mastering, when I use aggressive multiband compression and mastering EQ. This is a quick method, but my mix isn't so clear and, hmm, translucent, in result. The better way is more scrupulous tweaking of per-track EQs and compressors, and also using AUX busses for groups. Then it is possible to use very subtle mastering and to get the same thick and big sound, but more clear and translucent.
I still very like to use aggressive multiband compression on pads, so may be it is worth to route all pads to dedicated aux and to use aggressive multiband compressor just on pads...
