My computer is refusing to change its state and wont get into sleep mode, screensaver mode or any other idle mode.
After investigating the problem, i found out that when one specific midi controller of mine is causing this issue - when it's connected, pc will behave as described above, but when its disconneted, computer behaves normally and goes to sleep after the period of time i specified in its power plan.

What shall i do? I dont want to connect/disconnect the hardware every time i go away from my computer...

Thanks,
Erez

Under your power options the is a setting called "USB selective suspend settings", try setting it to disabled.

It's disabled, but still won't sleep :(

Does your MIDI-controller come with it's own setttings where you can enable or disable 'sleep-mode'?

It comes with a mapping software, but i can't see any sleep related options there. The controller is Icon iControls.

I don't know if you're using Windows or a Mac but regardless of that I think many MIDI-controllers have a 'DJ-mode' which prevents the PC from going to sleep or screensaver. Maybe you see an option for that.

for a audio workstation all the "sleep" stuff should be off anyway.

Have you checked your bios options? Im thinking there might be some type of 'Allow USB to wake' type setting.
