I'll just continue our discussion from the VRoom preset topic here then.
Mod Rate in Hz can be matched (at least for PCM), but what about Wander? Since Lexicons use ms values, and for ex Large Random Hall has 22.0 ms of max. 24, which is around 92%..is it safe to assume that it would be around 92% in Vee3 as well for Depth values?
Great tips, Sean, I'll change attack percentages right away. Chamber should be used even for Concert Hall presets? Also, is diffusion (the only one) control in Lexicon reverb the same as early diffusion in Vee3 or should it be calculated between early and late?valhallasound wrote:I started a new thread for Vee3 presets.Cimbasso wrote:Can we post our Vee3 presets here as well? I made some (30 and something) PCM and 480-ish presets in case anyone is interested..
I tried to match preset parameters from 480 and PCM and also did additional tuning by ear. However, I'm no reverb expert by any means and I'm pretty sure that attack values are wrong (couldn't find them in Lex reverbs). Maybe Sean (or somebody else) can fine-tune them to be even more similar to originals..
As far as matching Attack to the Lexicon Shape/Spread, it might be difficult to get an exact match. I would try multiplying the Lexicon Spread value by 0.39, and using this as the Attack percentage. Use Random Space for Random Hall presets, and the Chamber algorithm for the other 480L presets. If you have a 480L handy, you should match the decay times by ear, as the older Lexicon stuff had a very loose relationship between the displayed and actual decay times.

For the original 480L Hall presets, yes. I'd turn the Early Diffusion down. The 480L Classic Cart Concert Hall would be closest to the Vee3 Concert Hall.Cimbasso wrote: Great tips, Sean, I'll change attack percentages right away. Chamber should be used even for Concert Hall presets?
Lexicon Diffusion = Vee3 Early Diffusion. The Vee3 Late Diffusion corresponds to what was called "Definition" in some older Lexicons, although the Definition control worked backwards (i.e. higher Definition values = lower Late Diffusion). Also, is diffusion (the only one) control in Lexicon reverb the same as early diffusion in Vee3 or should it be calculated between early and late?
I dunno. I didn't try to match the Lexicon modulation depths. I'd adjust this by ear.Mod Rate in Hz can be matched (at least for PCM), but what about Wander? Thanks for the tips, Sean. Just a last question before I post my finished presets..is RT HiCut in Lexicons same as HiFreq in DAMPING section of Vee3? Cause if not, I switched it with RvbOut Frequency (HighCut in Vee3), so it should be fixed.

Yes, if memory serves me correctly. The RT part of the parameter name is what makes me think this adjusts the equalization of the reverb tail.Cimbasso wrote:Thanks for the tips, Sean. After consulting 480L manual and comparing with NI RC 48, I'm pretty sure that's right.valhallasound wrote:Yes, if memory serves me correctly. The RT part of the parameter name is what makes me think this adjusts the equalization of the reverb tail.

So, here are some 480 and PCM presets, done by matching parameters and fine-tuned by ear. Some presets most probably could be improved (especially PCM larger halls), so if someone has time to play around, feel free to improve them.
All presets are in NOW color since I prefer that one, but you can easily change it with a click of a mouse.
Click here to download. I hope someone will find these useful..enjoy!

Hi Sean - how about an AMS RMX 16 "Non Lin 2" emulation ? would this be possible on Vintage verb?

I recently did a blind reverb shoot out over at GS
http://www.gearslutz.com/board/gear-sho ... -vee3.html
Before the results were posted (Don't scroll down from post #1 if you don't want to know) the consensus was that Vee3 (only using Sanctuary) was the favourite. I had quite a few folks PM direct with their preference as well as on GS.
I've been asked what presets I used.
So here they are:

It would take a dedicated Non Lin 2 algorithm to do this, as the architecture of this RMX16 algorithm is VERY different from the existing Vee3 algorithms.ged leitch wrote:Hi Sean - how about an AMS RMX 16 "Non Lin 2" emulation ? would this be possible on Vintage verb?

AFTER you posted the results, of course, people were able to say which plugin they thought sounded the most "expensive." No face palm icon on KVR, sad to say.Beatworld wrote:I recently did a blind reverb shoot out over at GS

Interesting (to me) was the number of people who were happy to PM me but not keen to have a go in public.
Hey, there are no right or wrong answers
All good fun.

I have taken a few of those blind comparisons, and can't even identify my own plugins. The only one I was able to accurately judge was on KVR, where someone used the demo version of ValhallaRoom. The dropout after 45 seconds was a giveaway.Beatworld wrote:FUNNY that isn't it.valhallasound wrote:

Just wanted to add my thanks for uploading these. Just bought the Vintage Reverb (the 1970 mode, thanks to Sean's wife, matches exactly the wallpaper/tapis I had as a very very little boy, outstanding ). I was a "day 1 and bought" user and thought I had my reverbs now, all from Sean that is + ubermod (even deleted one I had bought in 2003 for, er, 250 Euro...). Well i was wrong... and am off now to try your piano settings.Beatworld wrote:...

Not to break this thread as up to now I have no own presets but am learning from all of you, I just wanted to say how incredibly wonderful it is for me to have such reverbs that still work perfectly with my old 2007 laptop. Reverb can be a cpu hog, and to get such incredible sounds without having to jump in the bizarre trend to buy a machine every 2 years (one should be forced to keep the oldies until the room was full ) is - amazing. I remember some demos from 2011 or abouts that, well, already were too much for my machine without giving similar great results. Guys, I'm happy (and that is not only because at Midsommarafton we had a lot to drink )
