Hey Jobro, what am I doing wrong? I put both files into the Synplant folder, next to the dll, nothing happens
I'm sorta stupid, looks like

Create a random seed (ctrl+click on the seed).

Try removing the '+' at Globals.txt line 4, column 12.
The line should read 'MAX_PITCH: 3,' afterwards.

This helped for me.

D'oh! I thought I corrected that one. What mod did that happen in? Doesn't matter. I checked and fixed the problem. Download it again to fix the problem.

I also like the opposite of the 'misgrowing' script: The tamed plant.
By removing the autoexec.pika script (or reverting it to its default) and reducing the value 'randomGeneVariance' in Globals.txt (line 15), a freshly planted seed generates a plant that always every time starts out with a smooth and beautiful tone, not harsh noise. One can still get noise by re-planting noisier and more atonal parts of the plant.
'randomGeneVariance' determines how far the gene values can deviate from 0.5.
1.0 means all is possible, 0.1 gives almost 0.5 for every gene parameter.
I hope I understood this right.
