Sixth Sample has announced the release of Spoton, a free vocal tuning plugin for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU and AAX plugin formats.
Spoton is a two-knob automatic vocal tuning plugin with a clean sound and low latency. Select the scale of your song, adjust the correction amount and speed to your liking, and you're all set.
During these first couple of years of running Sixth Sample, I've also been studying information technology, and I'm finally graduating. As a thesis project, I decided to study automatic pitch correction and try to write my version of Auto-Tune. I've always been interested in vocal tuning plugins, but as many of them cost quite a lot, I never pulled the trigger and got myself one. If you, like me, have yet to acquire a high-quality pitch correction tool, today is your lucky day. As pitch correction has become an integral part of many of today's genres, I believe it is something everyone should have access to.
