Attila M. Magyar has announced the release of version 3.0.0 of JS80P, a MIDI driven, performance oriented, versatile, free and open source synthesizer VST plugin for Linux and Windows.
The 3.0.0 version is fully backward-compatible with previous versions, so all existing patches and projects can be loaded without problems.
Besides several compatibility improvements and bugfixes, the new version offers new features as well, including:
- Polyphonic LFOs with amplitude envelopes.
- New capabilities to fine tune macros.
- Envelope shaping and other new options to tweak envelope generators.
- Echo and reverb distortion.
- New operating modes to keep notes ringing without having to hold the sustain pedal.
- Detailed documentation explaining the ins and outs of the plugin.
JS80P comes with two oscillators (and a sub-harmonic sine), and a lot of filters, effects, envelopes, LFOs, and powerful macros to shape the sound with subtractive, additive, FM, PM, and AM synthesis, complete with polyphonic, monophonic, and split keyboard modes.
