Simply no software comes closer to the real thing than this plugin (and I tested all that is currently available). The parameters thoroughly reproduce the original behaviour, while v2 added more possibilities. A bit heavy on the CPU, but for a reason.

My go-to pre on synth bass and leads! It adds beautiful warm saturation while enabling to slightly alter brightness.
