I have found that a collection of different drum VI's gives you a great selection of different drum sounds depending on the genre you are playing. The sounds included in SSD5 seem to be very good so far. I have not been able to go through all of them just yet but im very happy with the purchase. They will suit some rock and metal very well. SSD5 is a good purchase to get when its on sale.
Read ReviewI was trying all drum samplers around like Groove Agent 4, EZ Superior Drummer, FXpansion BFD3 and others. To me SSDP4 is a little bit better than BFD3. Sounds realistic. Worth to buy.
...as long as sync to host while auditioning grooves isn't important to you. Made me furious when I discovered that. Don't bother with the SSD forum. Was dead for months after I left polite, constructive suggestions. Not even an acknowledgement. I knew I was on my own at that point. Yep. I'm bitter.
