NEW: Standalone app is now shipped as well, you can use it without a DAW to play around. Hope you have fun and thank you so much for supporting a solo developer <3 All the money made from this go directly into improving it further and making Laura even better! Please do not hesitate to send feedback or leave a review, thank you! Latest update adds auto-updated and some UI polish (09.06.2026) Laura runs four oscillator engines under a single signal path: a full wavetable engine with a built-in editor (formula box, brushes, per-frame operators, up to 256 frames), classic analog-style oscillators (saw, square, triangle, sine, pulse), two-operator FM, and a set of fractal kernels (Mandelbrot, Julia, Burning Ship, Tricorn, Multibrot, Newton). The fractal kernels are the headline. Their complex-plane coordinate is exposed as a parameter, so modulating it navigates a parameterized space of harmonic content rather than scrubbing between pre-baked frames. Park on a coordinate, attach an LFO to it, and you get slow timbral drift that is hard to reproduce by other means.
Around the oscillators sits a modulation matrix with six envelopes, four LFOs with editable shapes, and a macro layer that combines sources before they reach a destination. Every modulator slot can flip into a multi-segment user-drawn curve via the built-in MSEG editor, with per-segment tension, loop and sustain markers at any float position, tempo-synced rates from 1/32 to four bars, and a gallery of shape templates.
Filter+ is the signature filter section. It hosts Synapse, a 4-pole signature low-pass with always-on warmth, drive-mode-shaped resonance, and a built-in Sing wave-folder that turns the resonance peak into a harmonic, almost vocal bloom. It also offers the usual SVF-based types, ten pre-filter drive characters (Tube, Tape, Diode, Fold, Soft, Hard, Aurora, Mirage, Halo, Tanh), a series high-pass, a live response curve, and conditional dimming on controls that have no effect at the current settings.
The sequencer is its own instrument. Eight features that go past what the usual step sequencers do: per-step modulation lanes, conditional triggers, feel presets, fractal node generation, brush editing, shape-as-canvas drawing, a tension macro, and per-node lane targets. You can sketch a melodic idea, then morph it across a performance without ever touching a piano roll.
New compressor with Bloom, Drift, Pump, Spectral and Harmonics modes. Bloom and Drift are Laura-specific characters you won't find on other compressors. Use them as a finisher on the master bus or as a sound-design tool inside the FX rack.
The 16-slot FX rack covers chorus, delay, distortion, phaser, flanger, reverb (algorithmic and convolution with your own IRs), EQ, and a granular cloud, plus the new compressor above. When inspiration runs late, the DICE button rolls a curated patch and gets you back to playing.
Licensing is offline, with no telemetry and no cloud server. A 30-minute-per-session demo runs on any machine without an account.
