How to find out unregistered VSTs?

I don't have Waveform but I assume you can see the levels on the tracks when the transport is paused, right? Just find the track with the noise and then disable or remove the plugins one by one until you find the culprit.

Thanks. The problem of whitenoise is there if any audio is playing at all. I actually attempted to disable all VST but unsure if it was a success. Either way the noise is always there.

What if you start WaveForm and start with an empty project. Do you then also hear noise? If you do, the source then surely is not a VST.
How loud is the noise? Are you using headphones or speakers? Onboard sound or a semi-pro audio interface?

Basically at any point that Waveform tries to make a sound I hear whitenoise. I am suspecting too that it isn't a VST. I'm using on-board laptop sound. Nothing fancy. However Waveform did call in common VST stuff on setup, that was why I suspected that angle.
