i'm new to the world of music, like seriously. no theory, no nothing - i'm not quite a producer myself, i just like to do vocal covers of my favorite vocaloid... songs for fun. but i really want to get better at mixing my vocals!

my first skill i really want to sharpen is EQing - there's so much information on it that it's easy to get swept up, so I wanted to ask those who are more experienced, what are your favorite EQ guides or tips? i'm not at a point yet where i can properly discern good from bad, so even something like a video that you had wished you saw when you were just starting out is much appreciated.

thanks! sorry if this type of post isnt appropriate for the forum

EQ is a great and fave subject. The real key to understanding EQ is not in cheat sheets and the like but in understanding how people hear (psychoacoustic/anthropology/psychology stuff) and the concept of creating an illusion that the listener will accept as the Scene & Story that the Song is telling.

You might like these two as they are most relevant:

(yes that is a silly title but I don't make the subjects/titles for these)

and this one is about mixing vocals which is of course similar but more vocally
