Any drawbacks or sacrifices using Additive Osc?

I am just curious if there are any drawbacks (cpu, audio quality, etc) of using the additive osc with only 1-2 Osc vs the wavetable or basic?

Also Is the Basic osc generated in real time, like a normal VA, or is it essentially just saw, square, whatever wave tables?
