I'd like to multi-sample my friends synth. I was wondering how one goes about sampling different filter cutoff? A lot of work, I know but how would it be done and organized?

Sampling all the notes at a specific cutoff frequency and then doing that for x amount of cutoff frequencies? What are the zones like in the TX16Wx, I've just downloaded it!

  1. Read the manual.
  2. Generally you have two options:
    • Turn off the filter of the source material. Use a filter in the sampler instead, on the unfiltered source samples.
    • Use the built-in multi-sampler, and instead of mapping velocity to second axis, map a MIDI cc controlling the source filter,
thereby building a layered multisample of filter applied. Map to either vel or a controller in TX. Or sample both velocity and filter control - now you have three axis (key, vel, filter control) so you need to use either key switching or matrices - both pro features.
I suggest starting with sampling w.o. filter. The TX filter is quite good.
