Hello TC and other M42 fans,
I just wanted to let everyone know I posted a large ambient piece making exhaustive use of the M42 over at the Cafe:
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=116199
The direct download is here:
The Abyss (ambient mood poem) 13:38, 17.4Mb
http://www.wusik.com/song.php?id=1078
The M42 synth was used throughout. Some additional choir parts (about 6:50-11:00) are from Vox'd. The M42 and Vox'd synths were run through the Metallurgy effect in the two tense sections (about 3:30-5:00 and 9:00-11:00).
I would guess more than half of the M42 sounds are from the TC_M42_Ambient expansion.
The M42 synth is just awesome and is really geared for this style. The sounds are just so alive - constantly changing over time and if held long enough usually give a nearly random surpise sound (how does it do that?).
I'm eagerly (and have been eagerly for over a year now!) awaiting the M51 and other AlgoMusic products.
Thanks everyone,
YBaCuO

Just taken a first listen and I'm impressed!
The whole sound is wonderful in its tone and textures, the section which employs the choir and panned "sparklies" is particluarly pleasing, rather than being underwater I was in space on an Orion "fly by" (but hey thats just me!)
If I was going to be picky the ending is a bit arbitary. It needs, say a held note on a long release to finish it off nicely.
8/10 for me.
Mike.

I finally listened to this and sorry for the delay...and Its my kind of music!! good star gazing music! Sounds like you are on another planet beholding strange wonders of the universe.
it's in my folder now...and thanks!!
BTW: what does the voices?? M42??
EDIT: just re-read the above
and very glad SOMEONE is actually using my ambient sound set to a great extent!!

You just got time to listen to it ... because you were busy putting the finishing touches on the M51 patches, right? (being hopeful).
Thanks for the listen, although The Abyss is the deepest part of the ocean and not anywhere is space, but no matter. I should use M42 (+M51) to do an album of places right here in Alaska: Ice, Tundra, Mountain Peak, Glacier, Blizzard, Deep Freeze, Aurora, Midnight Sun, and actually learn and understand the Eskimos 11+ words for different kinds of snow (they need that to survive) ...
By the way, I managed to finish another track using M42 (with drums by DK+ and Wusikstation):
Hope is never Extinguished http://www.wusik.com/song.php?id=1092
announced at the Cafe here:

Quite a bit different, inspirational in character, probably not as appealing; but not bad if you can get past the rude, noisy first minute.
It also uses the TC_Ambient_Expansion set - though the featuring Led Sky Trumpet patch is from the M42V1.1 2nd bank.
I am SO excited about the impending M51 release. I have more ambient pieces lined up, but I'm postposting them until M51 comes out. Last time I did that, it was a year later before I finally dropped orchestral work for these two ambient ones ...
Now get back to work on M51 ...

yep.working on M51 ..and I really like ocean pieces. One of my first electronic inspirational works I heard was Edgar Frosea's AQUA. It really inspired me to get into electronic music.( and actually still have the album..vinl!!) . Will now check out the new piece.YBaCuO wrote:You just got time to listen to it ... because you were busy putting the finishing touches on the M51 patches, right? (being hopeful).
