I've been disappointed with the attack of many orchestra sample libraries. The string and brass instruments never seem to have that punch that I'm looking for (think for a moment of the strings on Stereolab's Emperor Tomato Ketchup - gorgeous!). I've listened to the GPO sample songs on the website and they sound great, but it's difficult to know for sure until I actually play around with it.
Can anyone tell me how the string and brass instruments in GPO measure up in this regard?
Thanks a lot!

heh heh. that's a good album. i don't know if i'd call the strings "gorgeous" (i don't really care for the sound of that album), but they are cool. actually, sometimes the "strings" are actually just vintage synth pads. unless you're talking about tracks like #2 (i think), which must have had live strings. probably sampled or something.portobellovcs3 wrote:...(think for a moment of the strings on Stereolab's Emperor Tomato Ketchup - gorgeous!)...
anyway, thanks for bringing up some good music memories.
