I've been having a blast with the new Mac Studio finally, zero CPU issues, Opus hosted in DP etc. I bought Scaler 2 recently and it's pretty cool, it spits out alternate chords at you when you throw a scale at it, and it has more scales than anything else I've used. It's the kind of thing I can do, of course, but being primarily a guitar player it takes me time to go through multiple chord variations. I tend to write in weird scales, then spend too much time going through the variations because I'm unfamiliar with it, and this has been great.

I've changed two of the strings on the Epiphone acoustic. That's enough frustration for the time being. Do the rest later.

I've been reading the manual and playing with the Digitakt. Seems like a more sophisticated drum machine than LXR was, but definitely designed as a drum machine for small samples and LP filter above 10k. Sampled the feedback the erica synths Fusion Box loves to make and I don't know if that was a good source for it. Something to do instead of watch Superbowl commercials anyway.

Messed with Wingie 2, trying to figure it out. L/R balance isn't always good, and the "Microphone" setting still mixes in the (dry) line input, and "Cave" mode doesn't work like I'd expect. But I started to get a feel for playing it. I kind of like how the gentle click of the built-in keyboard buttons is picked up by the internal mics (along with wind/breath, gently brushing the case, feedback from speakers, etc.) Haven't tried external MIDI yet or the Blippoo Box firmware.

About a 16 minute long track based on soft synths, Opsix, EZBass, Stix and a Wavefactory mute trumpet Kontakt library I’ve not used for yonks. It’s bordering a bit on easy listening so half tempted to whack a load of fuzz guitar and stuff on top.
Edit: spent a couple of hours trying to overdub guitar parts. Came up with a couple of nice riffs that don’t really work on this tune so took them off and will file them away for use elsewhere.

Some final changes as I change direction.
Replaced my 49 key controller with my MPD218 since I was more productive with it. Finished my basic guitar presets in Guitar Rig 6. Added a bunch of industrial loops to my pool of mangling loops. Actually cleaned off the studio desk with cleaning spray!
Next up - grow some talent.

Bastl Pizza arrived and just been playing with it. It sounds great especially alongside the Juno style voice from my SoundForce DCO/VCF combo. Need to try it through a few filters but liking it through a Doepfer SSM right now. Bit too late to do much more, but should get some time at the weekend if I’m not too wiped out.

Something disconcerting happened last night. Happily burbling along on the eurorack when I noticed the sound drop and nothing coming out of the 3U Erica Synths rack, no power to any modules. I unplugged three modules and restarted, power back. Then added each back, turned on each time fine so it wasn’t down to a permanently failed module.
So I guess the question is has this happened to anyone before and what did you put it down to - overheating, temporary power surge etc?
FTR the three modules I swapped out were Noise Plethora, ADE-32 Octacontroller and Mimetic Digitalis.

Went over my past 5 projects - not a single NI plugin used, so deleted the last of 'em to make room for video work.
So far 'm all DAWesome and U-He and Vital for synths. Wow, I used to be a VSTi whore. Am now at peace with what I have, but am eagerly awaiting Myth.
Guitar going slow, took me an HOUR to change strings due to the damn neuropathy. I did remember all my German profanity, though - there's a bonus.
Been pretty uninspired lately, alas. It goes in cycles for me. Thankfully DJing for Relay-Radio.com fills in the empty spots!
Life has been worse in the past so no real complaints.

Played around with the track offered up here viewtopic.php?t=586151&hilit=play+it+forward
Found out I suck at beat mapping in both Bitwig and Mixcraft.
Got really annoyed at the sound of crackling while recording.
Had a lot of fun with sophomoric attempts to play common progressions on the linnstrument.
Was too busy filling up space on the track and when I tried to tame it down the music just died in me.
Dusted off my Samick Fastback (LP copy) that I haven't changed the strings in 10 years. Ran it through my Pod Go using my recently downloaded custom tone "Jazz Solo" Playing it through my board (Zoom L8) and into my near field speakers sounds great. Finally got around to using BIAB as a plugin. It kept on freezing and crashing in Mixcraft.
Improvised on one of the "Real Styles" Generally I'm usually happy with my performances when I use biab. Didn't happen this time.
Rediscovered a combi in Korg M1 I loved in the past. HyperPad. Was having some fun until I started playing harder and heard crackling even though the levels never hit unity. Kept on playing till I recognized the sound. "When it's Love" Van Halen. I did not want to go down that rabbit hole and that pretty much wiped all the creative juices from me.
So I went back to fighting through the solo guitar work on The Eagles Take it to the Limit.
