New Project Template to support hardware plugins

I was thinking about setting up a template for when a new project is started that would save the vst's associated with my hardware.

For example, if I were to save the vst's for arturia beatstep pro, akai mpk mini plus, Roland S-1 synth and akai MPC software in the master rack,would that cause unwanted effects at all? Is there a better way to gain access to these quickly and easily?
