Akai MPK controller scripts no longer work

I have an Akai MPK249. While it isn't officially supported by Bitwig, Akai have the controller scripts for Bitwig on their website. These scripts were last updated in 2015. I had them working on Bitwig on my last rig in 2021 and also customised them quite a lot to my liking.

The scripts no longer work (neither my custom one or the Akai original one, or any of the Akai controller scripts for other Akai keyboards. Bitwig can't detect the keyboard even though the correct ports are coming up in the controller setup (MPK249 Port A).

I can use the generic keyboard plus 8 device knob script with the same MPK249 Port A connection and it works fine, but without most of the extra controls of course.

I use Linux (Ubuntu, current LTS version) and have a bunch of other controllers working fine. I'm using the USB connection on this one.

Does anyone know anything that might have changed with Bitwig controller scripting (something deprecated maybe) to cause this, and anything I can do at my end to fix it?

Thanks for any help.

You've emailed support I'm guessing?

You mean Akai support? I didn't have very high hopes there. Since their script was definitely working they will probably blame Bitwig. Bitwig doesn't list MPK249/261 etc so will say it is unsupported. Meanwhile the community is doing a great job developing and supporting scripts so I came here first.

Is there some sort of program patch that must be paired with the extension?

No there isn't. I suppose the next thing is to test a Bitwig windows installation. Could be a Ubuntu bug. If anyone has the Akai script working on win or Mac, let me know. I don't have a windows box handy right now.

Hi, I am having the exact same issue right now. I was previously using these controller scripts instead of the Akai official ones: https://github.com/gravly/mpk-249-bitwig/tree/main (https://github.com/gravly/mpk-249-bitwig/tree/main)
However, they don't seem to work either anymore.

I am also currently on Ubuntu LTS.

Have you found a fix by any chance?
