Hi all!
I'm new in the universe of virtual modular synths, and I wanted a recommendation of any of these synths that are free, or not too expensive.
Thanks in advance

VCV rack is a great alternative but not available as a plugin for free. For learning I definitely recommend it as a free stand-alone program though. There are many tutorials on YouTube.
When it comes to free virtual modular synths you can load into your DAW, "Modulair" from Full Bucket is nice, though I haven't played around with it a lot. Imo it's not as easy as a learning tool compared to VCV Rack, but not being able to run a synth in your DAW can be a dealbreaker.

Hi,
I might have been at a similar point a year ago. One part which I learned is that in the beginning, one feels that the tools aren't right, then you might buy stuff and in the end, you learn that the initial tools were indeed right but you had to learn how synthesis works before you could use it.
It could be helpful to know what you already used (any synth VSTs?) and if you want to make music in the first place or if you are happy to just mingle around with sounds and sound designing.
I would also recommend VCV Rack. Maybe with the free Vult Modules, to get a more analogue feeling.
Even without a DAW, you can do a lot of things. ( For me, I was quite hooked to learn the classical sample and hold tricks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnmkdGsA0jA )

Multiphonics CV-1 by AAS might be worth a look. It's on sale for 49€ at the moment.
