Hi,
I have been planning a very small mobile DIY music desk that I want to make. It calls for a midi keyboard, however I don't want all the extra peripherals that comes with commercial keyboards(faders, buttons, etc). I just want the key-bed itself. I would like a key-bed like fatar or a doepfer one, but they seem to make access difficult for hobbyists like me. Can I buy a cheap keyboard that has the amount of keys I want and strip it's key-bed for my use, or are there alternatives?
I seem to recall a thread a long time ago that talks about this but can't find it.
Thanks!

Yes. I'll check out their website, but I forgot to mention(sorry!) that I need a 5-octave key-bed. The PK88 keyboard is too big for my desk.
Thank you!
Thank you!

Thanks for that. A little too pricey though(plus international shipping). I might go with the Acorn Masterkey 61. It looks pretty plain, kind of cool and has stuff that I can use until I am ready to take out the keys and add my own DIY stuff.

Thanks for that. It looks promising, however I'd like to find a place in the United States to avoid international shipping costs but maybe I'm pushing my luck too much.

this is an idea for a simple desk - it's ment to use buttom-mount ball-bearing drawer slides and the legs of the desk are two cabinets .. no racks are used but this is just about an idea that can be manipulated
