Been trying to get my Alesis Q 88 to initiate patch changes on receptor. I can get knobs to do this ( this is pointless of course) but none of the switches will work ..Any ideas?

Hello
you need to read the manual that came with your Q88 .
Find the bit about sending program change messages.
There should be something about LSB,MSB and prrogram change number.
You will have to program your controler (Q88) to transmit the LSB, MSB and program change information that corresponds to the LSB,MSB
program change nr that the receptor needs in order to change sounds.
It should look something like this "000 024 001" ie three sets of numbers.
If i remember correctly the Q series achieves this by allowing you to program the Keys to send the relivant numbers .
The receptor is offset by +1 digit so if you send prog change "001" it will change the program to "002" there is a seting to change this in the receptor settings ,it is like this because the program nr regime on receptor starts at "000"
If you are unshure about the terminology you should do a google search there is loads of info on the internet it is not difficult to understand.
