I listened to "Crimes of The Heart." Great song! Wonderful melody and ELO-ish vocoders. Cool guitar.

I think the bass and drums are adequate but not as strong as the rest of the elements in the track.

Yeah, I compressed the hell out of both and brought them back in the mix. I'm doing some experimenting with my mixes now instead of playing it safe and just doing the same old thing all the time. Expect more experimentation in the future.

Duck Soup

well, i can certainly here the queen and sparks influences in there :tu:
catchy as ever (pretty much know im gonna be "in the soup in the soup in the soup we go..." as i try to sleep later, so thanks :P )
nice clear mix too, i know ive said it before but you have improved so much in the past few years, you should pat yourself on the back.
and to top it all, it sounded like you where enjoying singing it, which is the main thing, we have fun while were doing it :) if we end up with a nice track at the end, double bonus :D
no complaints from me :)

Sparks was one of my favorite bands growing up in the mid 70s. I remember hearing "Achoo" the day of my high school graduation in 1975. I bought all their albums shortly after.

In short, I could do Beatles, Queen, ELO and Sparks styled tunes every single day and never get tired of doing them.

Sorry about interfering with your sleep though.

3rd track from my upcoming CD "Queen For A Day"

Wrecking Ball

You keep me hanging
Up on the wall
Very slow torture
Waiting to fall

You are pure evil
Sent here from hell
Spawn of the devil
My poisoned well

You are my wrecking ball
You are my wrecking ball
You are my, my wrecking ball

Eat out my heart now
That's what you do
Worms in my stomach
Remind me of you

Rot in the attic
Home falls apart
Pain in my gut throbs
Knife through the heart

Repeat Chorus

Someday I'll kill you
And you'll be dead
Then I can go on
Living instead

Until that day girl
Wishing you death
I won't forgive you
Til my dying breath

Repeat Chorus

4th track from my upcoming CD "Queen For A Day"

Drag Racing

Put your shoes on
Pretense all gone
No one left here to fool

Be yourself now
You should know how
Either way you're still cool

People they will accept you
If you reach for a star
Never forget
Who you really are

Drag racing like a killer queen
Fast or slow or in between
Drag racing in your high heel shoes
Tall or short win or lose
Be yourself
Be the thing
Grab a mic
And start to sing
Be a queen or be a king
If you don't your life don't mean a thing
Drag racing just like hanging on a wing

Take control now
I'll show you how
In the palm of your hand

Be the hero
Not a zero
Time that you took a stand

Repeat Pre Chorus and Chorus

wagtunes,
Thank you for the reviews! Now "Sweet Patootie": is that sampled electric bass? It sounds very good. The brass & sax sounds are very good also! So is the piano. The melodies are nice. Nice song! :)

wagtunes,
Thank you for the reviews! Now your 'Cool Cat' song: unusual time signatures at times. Sax, brass, strings, and piano sounds are high quality! Around ~2:00 is my favorite portion of the song. Nice melodies. This sounded good, though overall, I liked "Sweet Patootie" better. Cheers! :)

Thanks for the listen and the feedback Aaron. Always appreciated. The electric bass is MODO Bass which is a modeled bass. It's the only electric bass I use anymore. The brass and sax are from Warp IV which, IMO, are the best out there. Really made the whole CD.

5th track from my upcoming CD "Queen For A Day"

Bleeding On The Dance Floor

And so it goes
It's funny like no one knows
Could not see it come
Never thought that you would run

I tried to be strong
But I realized that I was wrong
You weren't the one
Now the damage has been done

Bleeding on the dance floor
Waltzing with you
Holding my heart in my hands
Nursing this wound is the best I can do
Watching fate blow up our plans
Bleeding on the dance floor
Dying inside
As you walk off with my dreams
Yeah I can run but I sure cannot hide
Nothing in life's as it seems

There were the signs
But I didn't pay no mind
Oblivious me
To think I could not see

Musical cues
Guess I had to pay my dues
Our two step it ends
We don't even part as friends

Repeat Chorus

And so I say
Goodbye to what I knew
Had to end this way
Nothing else that I can do

Repeat Chorus

Good work. This is the first track of yours where I happen to hear a "clear" voice.
I don't know which fx-chain you sent your vocals through prior to this, but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't look back.

If you're referring to the last track, there is very little processing on the vocals. EQ, Compressor, Gate, Deesser, Limiter and a send out to a very small plate reverb.

They key, however, was a lot of Variaudio to correct all the pitch problems. That's where the real magic happens.

Love the Drag Racing song title. Perfect for a Queen inspired track.

Re the song itself: sounds like Queen to me so great job :tu:
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"
