Soundiron has released Tuned Artillery, a new metallic tuned percussion library for Kontakt.
Tuned Artillery features authentic WWI/WWII field artillery shell casings, a Cold War combat helmet and hand grenades, all recorded as bright, rich, harmonic tuned and traditional metal percussion. The shells and helmet were recorded in a large concert hall, with 3 mic positions (close, mid and far) for classic bell and anvil-like effects found in modern and experimental symphonic music dating back to the 1950s.
Soundiron also recorded each of them totally dry, in close, intimate environment, using sticks, soft mallets, rubber mallets, hard mallets, brushes, fingers, hammers and other objects on various surfaces. They also recorded a collection of anti-personnel hand grenades (safely decommissioned), including rolls, bounces, impacts, clicks, rattles and plenty of pin pulls.
The Mega-Mixer master presets feature several powerful tools to allow personalization, with the ability to design custom divisi and full ensembles on the fly. Each element in the assignable matrix allows full control over mix, pan, tuning, dynamic focus and more. These features allow you to use just the resources you need, while creating the perfect keyboard layout for your personal work-flow. The master Untuned preset spreads all 46 main articulations over the whole key-range for easy access. The master ambience preset allows you to blend and cross-fade any of the 39 unique sustaining atmospheres and pads, all created using the raw source recordings. There are also solo presets for each individual element in the library.
Most instruments include tempo-syncing and freely automatable LFOs for pitch, volume and pan. Standard automatable parameters include attack, release, pitch shifting, tuning and offset are included in every instrument, allowing custom tonal and response shaping. Soundiron also included 3 band EQs and filters, as well as custom convolution and reverb FX, plus a deep bonus collection of soundscapes, pads and ambient drones that provide ideal textural accompaniment.
