Muse Research, K-v-R's owners, are building up to the release of the Receptor hardware VST Plug-in Player and made a few announcements at Musikmesse in Frankfurt, last week.
Apart from being the European debut for Receptor the show was also used to announce the arrival of Arturia and Kjaerhus Audio to the stable of developers committed to shipping their commercial products on Receptor, a list that also includes Applied Acoustics, DASH Signature, DiscoDSP, FXpansion, GMEDIA Music, LinPlug, Native Instruments, Ohm Force, reFX, rgc:audio, PSP Audioware, and Wave Arts.
The other big announcement for Receptor is the addition of an ADAT "lightpipe" multi-channel digital audio output as standard on all Receptors, which will increase the total number of outputs on Receptor from 4 to 12. The initial shipping version will only support stereo outputs via lightpipe but a future free system update will enable the full multi-channel support.
