Camel Audio has updated Cameleon 5000 to version 1.7, which includes Universal Binary support, bringing the entire family of Camel Audio products to the Intel Mac. The update also provides VST 2.4 compatibility, and includes improved standalone and RTAS performance, as well as minor bug fixes and other improvements. The update is also accompanied by a new bank of 70 presets and a new tutorial.
Changes:
- Universal Binary support for Intel Macs.
- VST 2.4 compatible.
- Updated standalone and RTAS versions.
- Knobs default to linear rather than circular mouse control.
- Fixed bug (preset list now gets updated when saving a new preset).
- Other minor bug fixes and optimizations.
The new preset bank 'TC Elementals' was designed by Tim Conrardy, one of Cameleon's leading sound designers. The bank contains a wide range of sounds, including basses, guitars, ethnic instruments, distorted and crisp leads, a great acoustic piano and ballad electric piano. The pads range from warm sounds which fit unobtrusively into a mix to extreme 'moving' pads and atmospheres. There is also a wide range of sounds using microtonal scales, including input from acclaimed micro-tonal composer Robert Rich.
Tim has also written a new tutorial called "Cameleon Made easy" which gives quick and useful tips on making new sounds, and getting Cameleon to fit in an already busy mix.
The update is free to all registered users, who should visit the support page of the website and login to access the latest update.
