Digitakt II Launched

I dunno, the video was highly informative to me, and I'm not even looking to buy a Digitakt. While I'm happy with my SP-404 MkII, I might consider buying it sometime in the future.

Exactly… it just extends the possibilities making it easier to not need to leave a pattern.cryophonik wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 4:31 pm...and trig conditions and chance.
That said, I'll gladly take 128 steps and probably end up using all 128 more than I expect,... and then find myself wishing that my ARmk2, Syntakt, and Digitone had it, too!

Interesting to see how much Syntakt influenced Digitakt.
Would love to see many of new changes come back to Syntakt (but not as a version 2).

I’m not a buyer, but love to see to the changes. I’m going to stick with Push 3 for samples (but Digitakt is faster in some ways).

Absolutely! Adding another 64 steps will really open things up for the way I work with their sequencers. I often use different pattern lengths for each track and having a 128 step pattern will allow me to have tracks with more sparse events without losing resolution (ie, due to running in half-time to get a longer pattern).elxsound wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 4:59 pmExactly… it just extends the possibilities making it easier to not need to leave a pattern.cryophonik wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 4:31 pm...and trig conditions and chance.

When I'm working with longer patterns, I often copy a single page or two pages to an empty pattern to effectively 'loop' a section of the pattern. This also allows me to break out sections of a pattern for reuse. That's how I develop recurring themes without having to program every pattern step by step.

I also have a Push 3 SA and it does everything OI need in terms of hardware sampling and sequencing, much better screen, MPE drums, lots of FX etc etc etcelxsound wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 5:13 pmJust got a notice from Perfect Circuit for pre-orders.SLiC wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 5:01 pm Its launched, so I will change the thread title.

But...I still want one
The new Euclidian with Boolean feature is really nice- a bit of Torso-T1 functionality and they are £500 juts for the sequencer...

Something I really really would like to see in future updates (if possible):
1. Granular engine
2. Resampling
3. Ability to save or import/export sequences?

8 banks of 127 samples per project is a little better. Would have preferred an option to ditch per project samples altogether and just use a centralised pool as we aren't in the 1990s but I suppose it's some progress.
Oh just got to the loopop video where he's showing the Euclidean sequencer stuff - very nicely implemented.

Midi learn and renaming very useful for sequencing external gear...that was a long time coming!
Trig conditions much nicer as well with separate displays/knobs +drum kits properly implemented, recording quantize...I really hope some of this stuff just becomes standard across all boxes now!

Actually, I change my mind... those are some good reasons why I'll make use of the 128 steps too.justin3am wrote: ↑Wed Apr 24, 2024 5:19 pm Absolutely! If it were £600 I might be tempted but £850 having recently forked out on a two grand laptop I think I will sit down with the sampling software I have and learn how to use that instead. Eventually I'll look to swap out my current Digitakt but I don't need one tbh so this can wait.
