I modified a toy Dalek I was given (its original function was broken) to become a bespoke synth. Here is a demo of it, version 1.
The internals include a Teensy microcontroller and Audio card.

2nd Jam with polyrhythms:

3rd Jam with what are really polymeters I found out...

Fantastic!! If you could somehow play the Dr. Who Theme on that, you would win the internet.

I would have difficulty operating that controller from behind the sofa.
The synth sounds very impressive. Great audio demo, John.

Danger, Will Robinson your synth is ready to evoke the EMS VCS 3 on a Pink Floyd LP ...
This is truly a fun track that brings back memories of sci-fi and music past.
I want one.

Thanks Tim. Luckily this Dalek is small and has had its insides gutted so no evil creature resides in it. You would be safe to come out from behind the sofa.

Really cool.
Not only did I enjoy your tune, you gifted me a happy memory of my Gran.
She passed away in 2006 and would have celebrated her 97th birthday last week.
It was the early 1970s, and it was dinner time at my Gran's house. I was a wee boy, maybe 4 years old.
I refused to finish my meal, so Gran tried to coax me into eating a little more.
"I am a Dalek," she said in her best Dalek voice. "I'm going to eat your mashed potato."
I wasn't having that, and replied, "You bloody well won't, indeed."
She used to love telling that story.
