Seeing as they both fall short of offering a competitive current-day sequencer I'd prefer they both just focus on making a good drum rack generator and sampler. Imagine if XO added DS-10 and RC-20 to each sample chain or something like that. Atlas kind of started like that but now it's all about the sequencer and it even has sample packs. I got it because I have too many sample already. I wish he'd focus on improving sample sorting and kit building.
I don't disagree at all with this. I ended up giving up on both and getting an MPC Live II. I just use XO to find interesting samples at this point. Personally I think if Sononym just decided to get a drum cloud I wouldn't even use XO.

The attack parameter in XO is in fact a transient shaper.

Addictive drums-2 released in 2014, Addictive keys still at version 1, Xo released around 2019, RC20 around 2016! Pretty much a dead company other than the toy they just released.

This is the XLN's way of doing things, you buy the software as is, there is no updates and don't expect them to change any time soon.

A developer I like to support, may even buy one of his new pre-set packs, this one looks good. https://algonaut.audio/product/expansio ... c-ambient/
Man I wish developers would send out an email when there is an update available, I had no idea there were so many updates since the initial V2. I'm sure they announce it on their site but I never remember to go check the developer sites constantly for updates, there are too many developers to keep track of when you own a sh*t load of plugins.

Thanks, I'll have to locate where in the plugin that notification is, I must have missed that.

You have to enable "Check for updates" in the settings for this.

Anything is possible, but if their latest offering becomes increasingly popular... that'll likely be a gateway to them developing more apps that follows that design focus.

I wasn't a customer back then. But it looks like they did very actively develop AD2 and add new content to it for quite a while? Or is that a wrong impression?

I still hope they'd continue to develop AD2, maybe make AD3. I think it's still their best product.

Pardon if it's been asked before but, is there anwyay that you can actually save the "Search Filter" choices? It's quite tiring to always Search Filter at each reboot.. I have a huge sample library collections but sometimes I like to focus on one genre hence why I use the Search Filter often but it seems like the only solution is to delete the sample/folders that I dont need in XO which is dumb?

Post

^ No, I don't think that's possible AFAIK.

By the way, I recently read in an Instagram post by XLN Audio that new updates for XO are on the way. Let's hope we see XO 2.0!
