I could definitely hear a difference when used on multiple tracks in a mix, but sadly the difference just seemed to suck some of the life out of it, thinned things out a bit, less upper bass/lower mid presence.
Not for me this one, sounded better with them bypassed.

Yes, smears everything.. flattens things out, 2d - all those other adjectives. Amazing - the power of suggestion. There's demos on youtube that take a nice mix and make it sound awful - blurry transients, mushy sound.. and the comments are full of 'wow, it brings it to life!' etc. etc.Arksun wrote:I could definitely hear a difference when used on multiple tracks in a mix, but sadly the difference just seemed to suck some of the life out of it, thinned things out a bit, less upper bass/lower mid presence.

I tried it myself and I couldn't get it to sound anything other than what's been described.

Maybe the strategy is: first ruin your mix with Neutrino, then fix it with InstaShine soon to be released by iZotope.

Yes, I tried it on multiple tracks on a mix I was quite satisfied with - made me hate the whole song when I just listened to it again after forgetting I had been trying Neutrino on it...

What's going on with iZotope, seriously? I’m really asking because I don’t get it. Even if that plugin is free, it’s under their company name… Seems like a suicidal move to release such a lifeless & useless plugin like this, no? Or I am missing a clever marketing strategy??

Highly likely to be a paid upgrade to "Neutrino Plus" or something similar coming soon that includes a deeper interface, more instruments covered and an effect that actually does somethingNeon Breath wrote:What's going on with iZotope, seriously? But in all seriousness... people rave about ultra-subtle, almost imperceptible "console" plugins that cost a lot more than completely free - so *shrug*.
Check out the free 'ReFine' plugin by 'ljkb Plugins' for something kinda similar (although they call it a "psycho-acoustic processor").

Neutrino seems to have a cumulative effect.
u need to insert it into every track of a Song instead of just A/B on a single track

sounds to me like one of those trippy psycho acoustic dealies - spacial. the demo's clear even on my shitty logitechs. someone mentioned bootsys plug, or one of the new freebies being ported over by whats his name ... nice but need to check it out.
