I'm sure you have your answer by now but for the record, there are 2 issues that I find to be weaknesses. The first is the phasing (in non-linear mode) artifacts when you do a lot of notching in one area. Almost all EQs will exhibit this but since I rarely work with anything that needs so much boosting and cutting in one area it can be overlooked. Sure, I can just change it to Linear Phase mode but then the delay is just not suitable for live performance...so I have to look elsewhere. To be honest, Waves Ren6 is one of the best sounding EQs in my opinion but the workflow with it is crippling...I wish Waves would revamp that plugin because it needs a GUI overhaul.
Anyway, there aren't too many non-Linear Phase EQs that minimize these artifacts. The second issue for me is the precision of the MatchEQ function. It works fine and in most cases it does a great job; however, Ozone sounds better to me. It has more of a natural sound whereas ProQ2 sounds a bit-crushed when pushed.
...and the electron responded, "what wall?"
