another talk at the continuucon touched on the east/west coast difference, Tom Rhea, says it was Tonal vs Atonal, rather they sequencing or not... worth listening to a different perspective.

that's the kind of discussion that ends badly :lol:
Since everything is a pitch or a tone, how do you define Atonal? I know the answer, but it is an interesting side discussion on this topic. It's right up there with do you need to know music theory to be a musician? Or, I can't define Porn, but I know it when I see it.

By the way, I don't take either side and really enjoy listening to these perspectives. I find it fascinating as people (including me) try to use language to define something that defies the constraints of that language. It must be my elitist snobbery coming to the fore.
