Excellent! The Thrillseekers have also issued a remix of Chicane's Halcyon. This is the long version on Future Sound of Egypt. And it's different and updated enough to belong in this thread, I think.

Terrific stuff, all of it
Sometimes I just need the good old uplifting trance.
But it is worth mentioning that "Anahera" (the title of Ferry Corsten song) translates as something like "why, for the fvck sake?" from Russian. I'm sure Corsten doesn't know Russian but I couldn't help myself lolling cause the song itself is so utterly sublime.

This entire forum is wading through predictions, opinions, barely formed thoughts, drama, and whining. If you don't enjoy that, why are you here? ShawnG

I listened to that yesterday in ASOT #792, which was pretty good actually, after i haven't listened to it for a long time now, because it just went too pop and EDM for me. Great track, and a nice mix too, i was happily surprised that Armin seems to be back to the roots a bit now. Can, as usual, listen to it on his site, and on Youtube too.garryknight wrote:Excellent! I'm cherishing a hope that now, when EDM is all over the place and trance is no more mainstream, it will return to being actually trancechk071 wrote: I listened to that yesterday in ASOT #792, which was pretty good actually, after i haven't listened to it for a long time now, because it just went too pop and EDM for me. Yeah, even though it pretty much appeared to me that acts like Armin, and the other DJ's in ASOT, were into making the whole thing more mainstream basically. Obviously, there always have been many people complaining about the development on the net, and elsewhere, so, maybe that was a reason to step back a little, when you realize that there's still people who are into the "old" stuff.

Old Armin's stuff was golden

Yep. I don't know, there was something about his music choice and preference that simply was better than other's.

Astrix latest release "He.Art".
I'm not really sure if it's still "full on", it sounds for me sometimes more like psychedelic trance.

Yes, it's Stuart Langelaan. Not to mention that he made this stuff 2003. Great trance DJ.chk071 wrote:Nice. Just Discog'd that, and, obviously, it's Lange under an alias, so, no surprise the stuff is good.

If it's good trance and someone might not have heard it yet, I'd say it's a good candidate for this thread. I look forward to listening to all the new contributions.Zexila wrote:Know this doesn't qualify as last few years release, but hey.
I used to like ASOT but went over to listening almost exclusively to Solarstone's Pure Trance Radio as it's the closest thing to the best of old-school trance.chk071 wrote:I listened to that yesterday in ASOT #792, which was pretty good actually, after i haven't listened to it for a long time now, because it just went too pop and EDM for me.
This. Definitely this.recursive one wrote: I'm cherishing a hope that now, when EDM is all over the place and trance is no more mainstream, it will return to being actually trance
