After listening to that clip, I still haven't heard anything like the Metal Muff emu from Mokafix. The one that gets me close is the Distortion X pedal in Bias FX. I typically use Bias FX as a pedal board before the amp sim of my choice in my DAW. Or sometimes a post-amp FX.spacekid wrote:Not anymorexphen0m wrote:It's true. The Metal Muff emulation was incredible, and I haven't heard any software like it since I demo'd it years ago.spacekid wrote:lol.good oneelectro wrote:None of the current sims have stomps as good as the Mokafix plugs.
I have this set up to sound like a rough lead, which it does well. what do you think it is?

That is the sample I was refering to in the ReValver thread when I advised you to tune your guitar before recording sound samples.spacekid wrote:I have this set up to sound like a rough lead, which it does well. what do you think it is?

Here's Dr. Gain, and some of the free stuff Audified (Audiffex?) has been putting out lately (MultiCabinet and STA-Delay)
For like $5, not bad IMO, though I wish I had my monitors set up instead of a TDK Soundcube. Ain't the flattest, friends, but very space-friendly and that counts for a lot right now. Still sounds good in my headphones, but we all know mixing on headphones has its drawbacks.

That was an experiment on moving the default(profiled)mic position, which was explained, it causes phasing and other effects. You'll all understand it better (and why it doesn't translate in the direct way other software does) if you just try it out and play around with it for a while..The only other thing I can do, is set up my mics and capture an actual output sample for you. But, with all the resistance -and heckling- I'm getting just for pointing out that something different can be done here, I really don't care to spend the time to convince you, when you can easily convince yourself by playing around with the tools provided.GrabtharsHammer wrote:That is the sample I was refering to in the ReValver thread when I advised you to tune your guitar before recording sound samples.spacekid wrote:I have this set up to sound like a rough lead, which it does well. what do you think it is?

Yes, I am. I use the greenscreamer or yellowdrive on every guitar track.
